An ethnological research project concerning a population subjected to relocation and marked by a dependence on the public authorities that set the course of its residential destiny harbours difficulties and traps which methodological vigilance alone cannot overcome. To deal with power affects statements and judgements, and confounds the status of the researcher who tries to find his proper distance.
