Can miners consider their difficult and dangerous work at the bottom of the mine as an art? We try to answer this question by analyzing various statements collected among miners of Kassandra in Northern Greece. Art as a technique or as a subjectivity? In the former case, art is presented as the result of work and implies differences in terms of qualification: in the latter case, on the contrary, intelligence, conscientiousness, love for work are categories that found the art of working well at the bottom of the mine, in a place where everybody has to do his work well in order not to endanger his own life and others' one.
