On the basis of a study of interior decoratings in a high-rise block of council flats we show that in this area of mass-produced social housing of the late sixties flats actually differ from each other in the way they are invested by their inhabitants. The similarity of the constructed forms is compensated for by the diverse ways of occupying them. Domestic universes reveal many personal and familial life staggings. In the scenery of these “small theaters of oneself” singular biographies are expressed, social trajectories are shown and justified.
