On the basis of a case study conducted in a rural environment the article proposes an interpretation of expressions of the sense of belonging and of territorial dynamics in the present-day context of mobility. Far from resulting in people’s detachment from their places of residence this phenomenon generates new ways of appropriating them. The possible ensuing conflicts contribute to vitalizing these territories.
