The Anthropologist and His Territories
Territories in Question: Routes in Territories
By Michel MariéEnglish
Like an autobiographer the author describes territories that were both places where he lived and his main research fields. He tries to discern the evolution of his own look on these territories and to understand how it is linked with their own evolution. In a society characterized by a generalized mobility the anthropologist, as a « voyeur » and traveller, lives in his way an experience quite similar to that of the inhabitants of the territories he has lived in.
