For the post office administration engaged in a process of growing rationalization the postman’s delivery round is now considered to be a simple sequence of mail delivery. A survey made among postmen shows that their delivery round is actually marked by various relationships with their customers. Their rooting in a territory and the possession of their own postal district are essential for the good practice of their job and their occupational identity.
