This article presents the symbolical meanings connected with the most famous and the most worshipped image of Our Lady in Poland (image of Our Lady of Czȩstochowa). It discusses the structure of a religious experience connected with the “holy image” as well as private and national dimensions of the Polish popular Marian piety.
