Being Elsewhere in the Heart of the City

The Parc des Buttes-Chaumont
By Maïté Clavel
English

The Buttes-Chaumont, a garden created in the nineteenth century in Paris, is a place of nature, relaxation, a welcoming space full of urbanity and deeply different from the other public places of the city. How can we account, through words and description, the singular and ordinary customs and uses of the ramblers in a place that yet allows daydreaming and represents an “elsewhere” in the heart of the city ?
