The Kayamandi community thrives on rivalry between its three main Football clubs. However, on home ground mutual respect between the Township Teams is apparent, an established rule pertaining to the way of encouraging the teams prevails. This rule is sustained by a sentiment of belonging to the same threatened community. The spirit of solidarity prevailing in the Township overrides the partisan spirit of the club. On the contrary, one can identify, outside of the Township, more poignant forms of attachment. The supporters then modulate their encouragements depending on the community they meet (Black, Coloured or White).
