Disgust in Anti-AIDS Campaigns

Initially focused on hiv/aids related stigma and discrimination, French prevention campaigns in the medias are reverting to disgust and fear of the disease and, even more, of people living with hiv/aids. This article analyses four major figures of disgust which appears in these campaigns. It tries to understand their emergence and their articulations with the fight against aids and prevention policy, and more widely with the biopolitics and the “government of bodies”.
