English

On a daily basis, the experience of disgust lies at the heart of the medical and curing experience of the sensorial response to deseases and the various forms of bodily decay. Though it is never hinted at, neither during the exchanges within medical staff, nor in the speeches which contribute to the training of doctors and nurses within the institution. As a result, the issue we are dealing with here is that of an authentic taboo, the effects of which, far from abolishing the experience of disgust, tend on the contrary to increase it.
