Trajectories of Developmental Anthropology in Sweden

Even though, contrarily to France and other European countries, Sweden never was a colonial power, she was very much involved in development projects. The paper traces the history of relationships between theoretical and applied anthropology, all the more complex that a number of researchers worked within agencies or even special units within Anthropology departments. The analysis of an investigation in Mali shows that bridges can be rebuilt between a reflexive anthropology of development and an applied development anthropology.
