This text deals with the uses and representations of nostalgia within compagnon societies. It unfolds on two levels. Beyond the nostalgia of the homeland caused by the departure on the Tour de France, there is a nostalgia for the Tour itself that is aroused by compagnons. This doubling of nostalgia, set on practices, discourses, and objects—so the author argues—is a powerful resource for the construction of one's identity.
