This paper deals with a new area of the sex industry: online escorting or prostitution. It examines the relatively unheard of phenomenon of young men who offer sexual services to men in return for payment. These young men, generally from upper socio-economic backgrounds, practice an unusual type of prostitution, involving a sorting process that leads to a social pairing with clients. Under these circumstances, the symbolic relationship between client and prostitute is reversed.
