Female Street Prostitution. From the Evening Customer to the Man of Means

This article tackles the circulation of money in female street-prostitution, and in particular the way it affects the temporality of the encounters between the prostitute and her client. The distinction between three types of relationship—with the “one-night client,ˮ the “regular client,ˮ and the “friend with benefitsˮ--will lead us to analyze the social significance of money and to question the “prostitutionˮ environment.
