English

Fifteen years after a first survey, this text goes back over the relationship that inhabitants have to the Garonne riverbank area, as well as to each other. It underlines the weakening of an old complex category, the ramiers, and the emergence of a new kind of social relationship that is more restricted to the Garonne riverbank. These evolutions raise questions in the context of the present change in public policies devoted to rivers.
