As of the end of the nineteenth century, hiking associations have joined forces to protect the Marseilles Calanques, prescribing their hygienic and learned use of the massif. These values are nowadays being challenged by others who propose a less elitist, more eclectic and gentle use of nature. Does this change lead to the democratization of the Calanques? This is one of the questions raised by the recent creation of a national park.
