An Embarrassing Body. Doctors Facing Puberty

This article describes how doctors (general practitioners and pediatricians) take care of preadolescents’ bodies during their pubertal changes. While the medical protocol requires the children to talk about themselves and expose their body, our research reveals first of all the childrens’ resistance, secondly the strategies of the professionals to conduct the physical examination with discretion and respect for their modesty.
