Dreaming one’s Daughters. “Growing up Well” in Privileged Environments

Based on two family portraits, this article grasps the “good measure” of feminine bodily socialization in privileged social environments by focusing on children’s activities practiced during the spare time. By taking into account the peculiarity of education strategies, modes of transmission and gender in each family, this paper questions the incorporation of a bodily hexis and the role of familial configurations in making femininity during childhood.
