Mount Gerizim, a New “Geneva for Peace”: Capital without a Territory?

Located in Nablus, West Bank, Mount Gerizim constitutes a site of worship and a dwelling place for a part of the Samaritan community. For about ten years, it has gradually become the “Samaritan territory”, in which initiatives of heritagization and processes of making the site and the community visible are increasing. This article examines how the Samaritans have seized these dynamics to enhance their holy place into a Centre for Peace, a “Geneva of the Middle East”.
