Searching for donor conception

The role of clinical contexts in the reproductive experiences of Italian prospective parents.
By Giulia Zanini
English

This text analyzes the experience of Italian intended parents who escape a cultural context opposing donor conception and explores the ways in which they navigate multiple occasions of donor conception locally and transnationally. The elements supporting clinical or non-clinical donor conception are presented to illustrate how the medicalization of conception transforms the clinical context into a productive milieu of kinship expertise.
