Notes on several archival photographs

This article presents four photographs from the real estate company Solidere. It aims to show how photography, considered as a document but also as a representation, constitutes a relevant source for an ethnography of urban change in Beirut—a city where, due to successive wars and reconstructions, certain places no longer exist except as images.
