The Baja Andalusia Flamenco scene in the face of globalisation: mobility, players, performance

Since the 1980s, the gradual incorporation of flamenco into the global music market has given rise to new passions among amateurs from all over the world who come to Andalusia to feed and try to appropriate this art, and has also led to international mobility among Spanish artists. In this article we analyse how the phenomenon of the internationalisation of flamenco and the intense circulation of artists, tourists and international amateurs that it induces, impact on the local scenes, its venues and the aesthetics of stage performance.
