The historian and the flag. What to do with a “dangerous” object? Interview with Michel Pastoureau

1st June 2022. Michel Pastoureau welcomes us to his home. The historian, who has never ceased to approach the flag from the sidelines, returns to an object that is much more elusive than it appears, since it has remained fallow in the social sciences. After two hours of a long interview, of which we have kept the moments that were exclusively devoted to it, the flag is here adorned with the colours of historical anthropology.
